First time on Mac? One quick “Open” click is normal
Booktol Uploader is signed and notarized by Apple. The first time you open it, macOS shows a standard safety dialog: “Apple checked it for malicious software and none was detected.” Click Open — that is expected, and you only see it once per install.
Best install flow: Open the DMG → drag Booktol Uploader to Applications → open it from Applications (not from inside the DMG).
Chrome blocked the download? Click the downloads arrow → Download suspicious file. Chrome flags new files until more people download them — it is not saying the app is malware.
Still blocked with “unidentified developer”? You may have an old unsigned copy in Downloads. Delete older BooktolUploader*.dmg files, download again from this page, or right-click the app → Open → Open.
How it works
- Install Booktol Uploader
Mac: open the .dmg and drag to Applications. Windows: unzip and run Run-BooktolUploader.bat (install Python 3.11+ first). Linux: run the AppImage, or unzip BooktolUploader-Linux.zip and run ./run-booktol-uploader.sh.
- Sign in with Booktol
Open the app and click Sign in. Your browser will connect this computer to your account. Background upload turns on automatically after sign-in.
- Download your KDP report from Amazon
Go to kdpreports.amazon.com/orders, pick your date range, and download the XLSX.
- Uploader sends it automatically
New KDP_Orders*.xlsx files in Downloads upload to Booktol and are removed locally — even when the app window is closed (Mac, Windows, and Linux).
